Prepreg Compression Molding

PCM

The Prepress Compression Molding process refers to the pressing and shaping of a preform formed by laying the prepreg material with the help of temperature and pressure within a certain period of time. This process has a fast molding speed, simple equipment requirements, and simple operation. Compared with hot pressing tanks, VARI, and OOA processes, the product has superior surface quality on both sides, good dimensional stability, and easy control of the process. In theory, the Prepress Compression Molding process can manufacture products of any structure. If the product structure is too complex, such as too many areas with inverted or flipped edges, it will greatly increase the cost and production difficulty of the mold. Therefore, it is not suitable for parts with particularly complex structures. However, we can manufacture complex parts through structural optimization or block design+bonding schemes.
