Recycled fiber mats can be used in the wet molding process. The manufacturing process for the fiber mats can reuse materials such as the waste product from cutting fiber mats made of continuous fibers. This involves binding the individual fibers and forming them into mats again. However, the fibers are no longer aligned, but instead statically distributed. The flow resistance would be extremely high for impregnation in a closed mold, which is why the resin is added outside of the mold.
Vacuum bag compression molding, also known as wet molding or pre impregnation molding. This process is suitable for manufacturing complex composite components that cannot be achieved through compression molding, both large and small. It is commonly used in the manufacturing of aircraft components and related sports equipment, but is less commonly used in boats. But with the development of technology and the advancement of corresponding materials and equipment, the application of vacuum bag pressing technology is becoming increasingly widespread. It has now been widely used in aerospace, aviation, trains, fan blades, ships, sports equipment, safety equipment and other fields, especially suitable for sandwich structure products.
